(JUBA CITY) – The Central Equatoria Business Union (CEBU), in partnership with the Pan African Alliance of Small and Medium Industries (PAASMI), has hosted a major business to business networking event in Juba, drawing entrepreneurs, investors and trade leaders from South Sudan and abroad.
The gathering took place at the Imperial Hotel in Juba on 27 August 2025 and attracted several hundred participants. The event focused on fostering partnerships, knowledge exchange and investment opportunities across key sectors, with this year’s spotlight on German technology in household supplies, solar energy and sports innovation.
BTECH Germany Technology led the showcase, presenting its latest sustainable and innovative solutions to the South Sudanese business community. Participants welcomed the engagement, describing it as timely in supporting the country’s transition towards renewable energy and modern industry.
The event was opened by Mr Soso Yaya, Deputy Secretary General of the South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SSNCCIA), who represented Chairman Hon Luka Loda Liskdad. He praised CEBU for its efforts in strengthening business linkages and welcomed BTECH Germany to South Sudan, noting that renewable energy is essential for driving the country’s sustainable growth.
Among the facilitators was Mr Thomas Muto Lo’Buda, Patron of CEBU and Consultant of the Juba Special Economic Zone, who assured international investors that investment land was available within the zone. He explained that the Special Economic Zone was established to attract investments, create employment opportunities and support South Sudan’s wider economic transformation.
Speaking at the event, CEBU Chairman and CEO of Bros Group of Companies, Mr Juma Khamis Juma, expressed gratitude to participants from both local and international enterprises. He said strong networks are central to business growth and underlined that CEBU’s mission is to empower young entrepreneurs and connect them to global markets through structured networking platforms.
Representing PAASMI, CEO Dr Henry E. Emejuo emphasised that Africa’s economic transformation can only be realised through industrialisation. He reaffirmed PAASMI’s commitment to collaborate with governments, business unions and trade organisations across the continent to support long term sustainable growth.
The interactive session gave attendees an opportunity to raise questions, particularly around environmental sustainability. In response, BTECH Chairman Mr Emeka Roy Ezeala and Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations Mr Andreas assured participants that their products meet strict European environmental and safety standards, making them suitable for South Sudan and the wider African market.
