(JOHANNESBURG) – The organisers of the second C&I Energy + Storage Summit in Johannesburg have invited commercial and industrial project owners to apply for the 2025 Hosted Buyer Programme. The event, which takes place on 4 and 5 November at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton, South Africa, is expected to draw regional energy leaders, financiers, and project developers.
The Hosted Buyer Programme, first launched in 2024, offers free access to selected project owners. Participants are connected directly with solution providers who understand the challenges of the South African and wider African energy markets. These include issues such as load shedding, price instability, and the rising demand for reliable electricity.
Through the initiative, buyers will be able to network with fellow energy users, share experiences, and gain insights on financing, regulations, and technology. Previous attendees said the programme provided valuable opportunities to meet experts and explore practical solutions.
Confirmed companies and advisory board members for this year’s event include Siemens, Standard Bank, Eskom, ACWA Power, Energy Intensive Users Group, and Goldfields. The sessions will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and masterclasses on project development, storage systems, and market updates.
South Sudanese businesses, which face similar challenges of power shortages and rising costs, may find lessons from the summit relevant as the country explores energy diversification. While South Sudan’s economy remains heavily dependent on oil exports, investment in renewable and storage solutions is increasingly seen as part of regional energy security.
The VUKA Group, which organises the summit, is positioning the event as a major platform for connecting African businesses with investors and technology providers. With energy security high on the agenda across the continent, the summit offers businesses in emerging economies an opportunity to learn from new models and partnerships.
