(JUBA CITY) – The Lebanese community in South Sudan has congratulated Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony on his re-appointment and discussed opportunities to strengthen trade and investment links in Central Equatoria State.
The meeting, held on 4 December 2025, was led by Consul Ali Myree and included key community members. Consul Myree expressed the community’s commitment to working closely with the government to support economic growth and development in the state.
Governor Adil welcomed the proposal, noting that partnerships between the Lebanese community and the government could deliver mutual benefits, particularly in trade, commerce and investment initiatives.
The meeting also addressed the recent fire at Juba’s Custom Market, which affected many Lebanese traders. The community expressed sympathy and solidarity with business owners impacted by the incident and discussed potential support measures to help restore market operations.
A statement from the State Press Unit ad Office of the State Governor said stronger collaboration between local authorities and business communities, including international and diaspora traders, can enhance Central Equatoria’s economic resilience and improve post disaster recovery for affected commercial hubs.
