(Juba) – South Sudan’s largest web portal, Jakony.com®, has launched a new live audio news podcast service, delivering timely, reliable, and accessible news updates twice a day on weekdays and once every weekend.

The podcast, hosted by a team of experienced South Sudanese journalists and curated editors, features top stories from across South Sudan, the East African region, and around the world.

From government policy decisions and peace talks to global affairs such as conflicts in the Middle East or elections in the United States, Jakony.com’s podcast ensures that listeners stay informed wherever they are.

The format is designed for ease and accessibility: concise audio bulletins run for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, allowing busy citizens—including those with limited data or literacy—to catch up on essential news while commuting, working, or relaxing.

Episodes are released each morning and evening from Monday to Friday, and once on Saturday or Sunday.

In addition to local coverage, the Jakony.com® podcast also integrates international reports from reliable global news outlets. Listeners can expect regular segments on topics like African Union decisions, UN Security Council updates, East African trade, and global climate issues—all explained with South Sudanese relevance in mind.

The platform has also announced plans to include community voices and expert interviews in future episodes, creating a more interactive and inclusive media space. The team is currently working on special episodes focusing on youth empowerment, women in leadership, health awareness, and entrepreneurship.

Episodes are available directly from the Jakony.com® website and its official social media channels. Listeners can also stream or download episodes on mobile devices to listen offline.
