(Nairobi) – The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Nairobi has announced new procedures for accessing H.E. Ambassador Anthony Kon, Head of Mission, in a move aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring more focused engagement with the South Sudanese community in Kenya.

The updated access protocols, shared publicly by the Embassy, will apply to all community leaders, student representatives, and general members of the public. The changes are intended to allow the Ambassador more structured time to attend to community matters, while also streamlining internal workflows and reducing walk-in disruptions.

For South Sudanese community leaders and student representatives, scheduled meetings with the Ambassador will take place from Monday to Thursday, between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

However, before any such meeting can take place, requests must first be routed through the Consular Section or the Education Attaché. These departments are expected to resolve most issues at their level, only forwarding matters that need the Ambassador’s direct attention.

Written referrals must be submitted at least one day before the proposed meeting to the Ambassador’s office for review and inclusion in the official schedule.

General public access to the Ambassador or other designated officials will be allowed on Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. These meetings will follow a first-come, first-served format, with each person allotted 10 to 15 minutes.

To take part, individuals must register in advance at the reception desk. A list of registered names will then be forwarded to the Ambassador’s Office for approval.

Walk-in visits, according to the Embassy, will no longer be permitted under any circumstances. All access must be planned in advance and formally approved.

The Embassy stated that these new guidelines will not only promote more organised interaction but also ensure that every concern is addressed appropriately by the right department. It called on the South Sudanese community in Nairobi and across Kenya to cooperate with the new system.
