(JUBA) – William Anyuon Kuol has officially assumed office as the Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA), marking the beginning of a new leadership era for the institution.
The transition followed a smooth and peaceful handover from the outgoing Commissioner General, Simon Akuei Deng, at the SSRA headquarters in Juba. The change of leadership was completed without incident, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to stability and orderly governance.
Following the formal handover, both Mr Anyuon and Mr Akuei are expected to address SSRA staff during an official ceremony welcoming the new Commissioner General.
According to the tax body, the event will provide an opportunity for staff to hear from the incoming leadership and understand the strategic priorities for the Authority moving forward.
The new Commissioner General inherits the task of improving efficiency, increasing compliance, and supporting national development through effective revenue mobilisation.
