(JUBA) – Digitel South Sudan is promoting the use of its digital payment service, Digicash, for customers who wish to buy JEDCO electricity units directly through their mobile phones. The service is being positioned as a faster and more convenient alternative to purchasing electricity tokens through physical outlets, which often involves queuing and manual processing.

Digitel states that the service is aimed at helping households and businesses maintain consistent power access through easier top up of prepaid electricity meters.

Digitel describes the service using the message “Keep your lights on the easy way”, highlighting that the process is designed to be simple and accessible to users regardless of time or location.

The service is promoted as fast, safe and reliable. It supports the purchase of power units from Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO), which distributes power to residential and commercial customers in Juba.
