(JUBA) – The South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) has successfully concluded a two day refresher workshop in Juba aimed at improving the capacity and professionalism of its internal trainers under the Toto’s Refresher Programme. The event, held at the Authority’s headquarters from 23 to 24 October 2025, focused on developing practical training skills, innovative teaching methods, and a culture of continuous learning among staff.
The Commissioner General of SSRA, Mr Simon Akuei Deng, said the workshop was part of the Authority’s wider effort to enhance efficiency and promote tax compliance through improved knowledge sharing. He commended the participants for their dedication to strengthening South Sudan’s revenue systems.
“I encourage our staff to refresh their knowledge about the importance of tax payment and to share that understanding with others,” Mr Deng stated during the opening session. “When we train ourselves, we are better prepared to train others and to serve the nation effectively.”
The refresher programme provided participants with modern training techniques, practical case studies, and feedback mechanisms to improve the quality and delivery of future sessions. Training facilitators from within the Authority led the discussions, which also focused on aligning staff performance with SSRA’s ongoing reform agenda.
According to SSRA officials, the workshop reinforced the Authority’s broader commitment to transparency, professionalism, and institutional development.
The event concluded with a call for sustained professional development and regular knowledge exchange sessions to maintain the momentum of institutional reform.
