(JUBA) – A major Independence Day celebration is set to take place in Juba on 9th July, as Sky View Bar & Restaurant prepares to host a star studded concert featuring some of South Sudan’s most popular musical talents.
The event will mark South Sudan’s 14th Independence Day since the country gained autonomy in 2011.
The headline act for the evening will be Deng Ariel, supported by a diverse lineup of performers representing different musical styles and regions.
Among the confirmed artists are Deng Peei, Mawan De Mawan, Gum E Lik, Deng Lok, Magai Lok, DJ William General, Emmanuel Mayor Angau, Koni Baris, Mou MB, Nyanjur Deng Yuom, Makat Junubi and Ayako Nyan Aween.
Guest appearances will include performances by Ajank Chan Awuol and Pioth Peace.
Music for the night will be mixed and hosted by a team of well known DJs and MCs including Selector Kuoi Awan, MC Ekaka, MC Athian Arecmeecc and DJ Jonckor.
The concert aims to offer entertainment and a shared experience of national pride, bringing together citizens and visitors alike to celebrate unity, culture and music. The event is expected to attract a large audience, with organisers promising an exciting and lively atmosphere at the Sky View venue.
Tickets for the event are being sold at an accessible rate of 10,000 South Sudanese Pounds, which is approximately $2.17 at the official June 2025 exchange rate of 1 USD to 4,600 SSP. For attendees wishing for a more premium experience, table reservations are available at 460,000 SSP, equal to $100.
