(JUBA) – Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang, the National Minister of Trade and Industry, met with a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Juba on 24th September 2025. The delegation was led by Counselor Yuo Sing.

The meeting focused on an invitation from His Excellency Ma Qiang for the Minister to attend the 76th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event is scheduled for Monday, 29th September, 2025, at the Eagle Ballroom of the Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba. The Minister accepted the invitation and confirmed her attendance.

In addition to the invitation, discussions included strengthening trade promotion between China and South Sudan. The Minister and Counselor Yuo Sing focused on key areas for economic cooperation, aiming to expand investment and trade opportunities that could benefit South Sudan’s growing economy.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation also presented a copy of The Governance of China, a book authored by President Xi Jinping, to the Minister. Yuo Sing said the gift symbolizes ongoing goodwill and mutual interest in deepening bilateral economic relations.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry emphasised that such engagements are part of South Sudan’s broader strategy to diversify trade partners and attract investment to key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, and energy.
