(Juba) – Ugandan goalkeeper Tonny Kyamera has officially signed with Kator FC, one of South Sudan’s top football clubs, as they prepare for a busy 2025/26 season that includes participation in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.

Kyamera played a key role last season at Uganda’s Paidha Black Angels, where he helped the team push for promotion from the FUFA Big League to the Uganda Premier League, though they narrowly missed out. Before his stint with Paidha, Kyamera featured for several top Ugandan clubs, including Express FC, Onduparaka FC, and Blacks Power.

The move to Kator FC marks an important step in Kyamera’s career as he joins a club with growing ambitions on both domestic and continental levels.

The Juba based team is gearing up for regional and continental action and sees the experienced goalkeeper as a valuable addition to strengthen their squad.

Kator FC unveiled Kyamera as part of a larger group of new signings to boost their squad ahead of the new season. Alongside Kyamera, the club introduced six other players, including three fellow Ugandans, Nicholas Kagaba, Willis Otong and Peter Robert. The club also confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward David Seyi and South Sudanese players Adim Bol Adim and Khamis Atari.

Kator FC’s management said the new signings are part of the club’s long term plan to build a competitive team capable of representing South Sudan effectively in regional tournaments and eventually making a mark in continental competitions.

The club is among the few South Sudanese sides regularly active in regional competitions. With the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round on the horizon, fans in Juba are hopeful that the new recruits will help Kator FC advance further than in previous years.
