(JUBA) – Juba International Airport is undergoing significant upgrades aimed at improving security, passenger experience, and infrastructure resilience. The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) has confirmed that construction of a new entry gate is in progress, bringing a more modern and secure access point to the airport.

Acting General Manager Eng. Kat Mosety Manyjok highlighted that the ongoing improvements also include the placement of a stone base in the vehicle parking area. This work is part of an expansion project designed to enhance accessibility for travellers and strengthen the lot’s resilience against weathe -related challenges.

The parking area upgrade is intended to accommodate increasing passenger traffic and ensure smoother operations for both airport users and staff.

SSCAA has said the project aligns with broader efforts to modernise South Sudan’s aviation infrastructure and supporting the country’s long term plans to improve air transport efficiency and safety.

Once completed, the new entry gate and expanded parking facilities will provide passengers with a safer, more convenient, and sustainable experience at the capital’s main airport. The improvements are also expected to boost overall airport functionality, reduce congestion and support South Sudan’s growing role in regional air transport.
