(JUBA COUNTY) – Stanbic Bank South Sudan has donated three steel filing cabinets to the Central Equatoria Ministry of General Education to support the ministry’s recordkeeping and document management work.

The donation took place on 6 August 2025 and was officially handed over at the ministry premises in Juba. The bank’s Head of Operations, Mach Ghai, and Business Manager, Oketa Sisto, presented the equipment to the Minister of General Education, Hon. Ciricio Zackaria Lado, alongside the ministry’s Director General, Peter Lado.

Officials said the cabinets, which come with sliding doors and internal shelving, will help strengthen the ministry’s manual operations. Many government offices in South Sudan continue to rely heavily on physical records, with limited use of digital systems.

Stanbic Bank said the initiative forms part of its broader approach to corporate social responsibility. The bank has previously pledged to support education, sustainability, and institutional growth in South Sudan through targeted partnerships and community investments.

“Our aim is to collaborate purposefully with institutions where our support can make a difference,” said a representative from Stanbic Bank. “Redirecting resources that we no longer require, to places where they are still essential, ensures sustainability and promotes growth.”

The bank emphasised that the donation is aligned with its commitment to supporting education in South Sudan, where schools and government offices often face logistical challenges that affect both teaching and policy coordination.

The Ministry of Education welcomed the donation, describing it as an important gesture of partnership between the government and the private sector. Officials also called on other banks and companies to contribute where possible to strengthen public institutions.
