(JUBA) – President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday received a detailed briefing from Upper Nile Governor James Koang Chuol on the overall situation in the state, covering peace, security, and economic developments.
Governor Koang told the President that the security situation in Upper Nile is currently peaceful. He credited both national and state government efforts for maintaining stability and promoting peaceful coexistence among local communities.
The Governor praised President Kiir for his “unwavering commitment to the service of the people,” highlighting the importance of consistent leadership in fostering peace and development.
President Kiir responded by reaffirming his pledge to maintain peace, security, and basic service delivery throughout the country. He emphasised the need for continued cooperation between state governments and the national government to advance South Sudan’s peace agenda and development priorities.
