(DONETSK REGION, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have eliminated a group of Russian servicemen who had entered the settlement of Yarova in Donetsk region. According to the Security Service of Ukraine statement released on their Telegram channel, the group had captured a civilian and forced him to cooperate after subjecting him to torture.

The operation was conducted by operators of the 8th Special Operations Forces Regiment. Ukrainian forces shared a video of the combat activities, showing the dramatic conditions under which the attack took place. The Russian forces had used harsh weather conditions to move and carry out reconnaissance against Ukrainian defensive positions.

The statement says that Ukrainian fighters intercepted a local resident who had been coerced into working for the Russian side. A rapid interrogation followed, which helped locate the building where the Russian forces were hiding.

A fight began shortly after Ukrainian reconnaissance confirmed the site. A raid was then launched which led to the elimination of three Russian occupiers. One of the deceased has been identified as an African mercenary known by the call sign Malik, who is reported to have taken part in the torture of the captured civilian.

Ukrainian forces recovered what they described as valuable items including documents, weapons and enemy communication radio equipment.
