(KOSTROMA) – Recent high resolution satellite imagery has confirmed the extent of damage following a series of Ukrainian drone operations targeting strategic Russian military and energy assets. The data provides visual verification of successful strikes against the 100th GRAU arsenal in the Neysky district, alongside hits on oil infrastructure in the Krasnodar and Penza regions.
In the Kostroma region, located approximately 900 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, imagery confirms the destruction of at least three structures at the 100th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate. Analysts suggest the facility was primarily utilised for the storage of artillery munitions rather than long range missiles, as the site lacks the reinforced underground bunkers typically associated with high explosive missile storage. Despite the absence of a total site wipeout seen in previous Ukrainian operations against similar hubs, the loss of these warehouses represents a significant disruption to the logistical supply chains serving the Russian occupation forces.
Further south, the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal near Port Taman in the Krasnodar region was targeted. Satellite photos indicate that at least two large oil storage tanks were completely destroyed, with additional damage reported to the surrounding technical pipeline infrastructure and shutoff valves. A fire covering an estimated 7,000 square metres followed the strike, which Ukrainian sources state was essential for hindering the fuel supply to the Russian military.
In the Penza region, roughly 600 kilometres from the border, the Penzanefteprodukt oil depot also sustained damage. While initial reports hoped for a wider blaze across the 15 tank cluster, imagery confirms one tank was destroyed and another likely damaged by heat staining. The fire at this Rosneft owned facility burned for two days before being extinguished.
Beyond kinetic strikes, Western allies have intensified the maritime crackdown on the Russian shadow fleet. In the Mediterranean, French naval forces, supported by British intelligence, intercepted and seized the oil tanker Grinch. The vessel, which had departed Murmansk under a Comoros flag, was diverted to Marseille after its registration was found to be fraudulent. The Indian captain remains in custody as authorities investigate the vessel’s role in bypassing international sanctions. These coordinated efforts on land and sea continue to drain the economic resources available to the Russian dictator for his ongoing campaign.
