(TEHRAN, IRAN) – The chairperson of the National Security Committee within the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, has issued a formal threat against Ukraine, asserting that the entire territory of the nation should be viewed as a legitimate military target.
This escalation in rhetoric follows allegations from Tehran suggesting that Kyiv has provided unmanned aerial vehicles to the Israeli government.
Azizi argued that by allegedly supporting the Israeli administration with drone technology, the Ukrainian state has effectively entered into a state of conflict. The Iranian official cited Article 51 of the United Nations Charter as a legal justification for his stance, claiming that Ukraine has forfeited its immunity from strikes.
These threats emerge amidst a backdrop of increasing international tension involving the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, and his ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
While Tehran claims Ukraine is a collapsing state, international observers note that the Iranian government continues to maintain a close military partnership with the Kremlin.
This relationship includes the well documented provision of Iranian manufactured weaponry used by Russian forces to target Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
Skeptics point out that the Iranian administration’s sudden focus on Ukrainian drone exports to Israel lacks public evidence and may serve as a rhetorical distraction from the ongoing cooperation between the chief Kremlin gangster and Tehran.
Tensions are now rising between Iran and Ukraine. Tehran has accused Kyiv of supporting Israel in the ongoing conflict and warned that it has now become a legitimate target.
