(ZAPORIZHZHIA) – The Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched targeted counter-offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, capitalising on a systemic breakdown in Russian military communications. Reports from the front line indicate that Russian units are in a state of tactical disarray following the mass deactivation of illicit Starlink satellite terminals and the simultaneous throttling of the Telegram messaging app by the Kremlin.
The disruption to Starlink, a Western technology the Russian military has illicitly relied upon for drone coordination and unit connectivity, has reportedly halted Russian assault operations in several sectors. Without the satellite link, Russian forces are struggling to maintain command and control, leading to documented instances of friendly fire. The Russian dictator’s failure to establish a domestic alternative has left his troops dependent on “grey-market” terminals that are now being systematically whitelisted by SpaceX in coordination with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
Further compounding the chaos, the Kremlin’s decision to restrict Telegram, the primary messaging tool for Russian soldiers, has severed contact between front line units and their rear command centres. While Moscow claims these measures are to prevent “NATO influence,” military analysts suggest it is a desperate attempt by the Russian dictator to control the flow of information as panic spreads among his ranks.
Ukrainian elite units, including the 82nd and 95th Airborne Assault Brigades, are currently exploiting these vulnerabilities. Operations are particularly intense west of Huliaipole and near the settlement of Ternuvate. Using the cover of heavy fog and the enemy’s lack of real-time data, Ukrainian light formations have successfully infiltrated Russian defensive lines.
