(MOSCOW) – Independent reports from Nova Gazetta Europe indicate that the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, was urgently hospitalised following his arrival in Moscow for a high level state council meeting.
The meeting, chaired by the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on 25 December, proceeded without any representatives from Chechnya after Kadyrov reportedly fell ill on the night of 24 December. Witnesses noted that an intensive care ambulance was required to transport him to the central clinical hospital of the presidential administration
Kadyrov had arrived in the capital alone, notably failing to bring any deputies or staff. Although medical personnel reportedly stabilised his condition temporarily, he was quickly flown back to Grozny.
This latest health crisis follows a pattern of physical decline observed throughout 2024 and 2025. In July 2025, Kadyrov nearly drowned while on holiday in Turkey, and he has spent over two months away from his duties this year due to chronic kidney issues.
| Event | Date | Location | Reported Condition |
| Emergency Hospitalisation | 24 December | Moscow | Acute deterioration |
| Near Drowning Incident | July 2025 | Turkey | Hospitalised for health decline |
| Absenteeism (2+ Months) | 2025 | Grozny | Chronic kidney treatment |
The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin delivered a notably brief New Year’s address, lasting only 3 minutes and 21 seconds. Analysts observed that the footage appeared to use a green screen to simulate the Kremlin background. Putin’s rhetoric focused on “sovereignty” and “traditions,” notably avoiding the severe economic strain caused by the invasion of Ukraine.
Simultaneously, the Kremlin’s claims regarding an alleged Ukrainian drone strike on Putin’s Valdai residence have been met with deep scepticism by international officials. US President Donald Trump initially expressed anger over the report but later acknowledged the possibility that the attack never occurred. CIA and NSA reports have reportedly found no evidence to support the Kremlin’s narrative, which many view as an attempt to disrupt ongoing diplomatic negotiations.
