(KYIV) – Ukrainian forces have executed one of the largest co-ordinated drone and missile operations against strategic targets inside Russia to date. The strikes utilised the long-range “Flamingo” missile system to hit high-value military and economic assets located as far as 1,500 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. These operations represent a significant escalation in Kyiv’s campaign to degrade the Russian industrial base and disrupt logistics supporting the ongoing invasion.

The wave of strikes hit several critical facilities, including an electrical transformer factory in Saransk, Mordovia, located approximately 850 kilometres from the front lines. This plant is a vital component of the Russian military-industrial complex, producing electronic rectifiers, inverters, and specialised power equipment. In Luhansk, Ukrainian FP2 Liutyi drones successfully targeted fuel silos at an oil depot. Furthermore, a strategic oil pumping station in Kalikino, Tatarstan, operated by the Russian firm Transneft, was struck. This facility is responsible for transporting over 100 million tonnes of oil annually, accounting for approximately 20 to 25 per cent of Russian oil production.

Additional targets included the Neftegorsk gas processing plant, which services the Gazprom-controlled Orenburg-Samara pipeline. Reports indicate that the plant, located 600 kilometres from Ukraine, handles 300 million cubic metres of gas products yearly and has been rendered inoperable. In the Votkinsk district of the Udmurt Republic, approximately 1,400 kilometres from Ukraine, a Flamingo missile struck a production facility where Iskander ballistic missiles, as well as Oreshnik and Topol-M systems, are assembled. Satellite imagery confirms a substantial breach in the roof of the primary assembly building.

In the Kotluban region, a Flamingo strike targeted a significant ammunition arsenal. While the Russian military has increasingly utilised earthworks to prevent secondary detonations, the strike reportedly destroyed a 3,600-square-metre bunker, prompting the evacuation of local residents. This campaign coincides with a successful counter-offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region, where Ukrainian forces have reportedly liberated several villages, including Stepove, Oleksandrivka, and Vilne.

The 80th Air Assault Brigade recently released footage of a tactical operation using fibre-optic drones to destroy a Russian warehouse containing vehicles and ammunition. On the ground, Ukrainian forces have reclaimed approximately 400 square kilometres of territory within 20 days. This advance is being conducted primarily by infantry from the 20th and 8th Corps to avoid the high levels of armour attrition seen in previous years. The current objective appears to be the severance of a major Russian logistical highway to isolate occupying forces.
