(JUBA) – The Government of South Sudan has announced the resumption of the Bahr el Ghazal highway project, which had been on hold for nearly two years.
Minister of Roads and Bridges, Hon. Simon Mijok Mijak, presented a comprehensive strategic report to Vice President for Economic Cluster, Dr Benjamin Bol Mel, outlining plans to restart construction on the vital road linking Juba to Wau and extending toward Greater Upper Nile.
Speaking to SSBC, Minister Mijok said the ministry is preparing to meet with construction teams to mobilise resources and commence work on the highway as soon as possible.
The project is expected to improve trade, enhance transportation, and stimulate economic development.
