(NAIROBI) – The youth leaders of the Bor Community in Nairobi met with His Excellency Ambassador Anthony Kon to extend congratulations on his appointment as South Sudan’s Ambassador to Kenya and to acknowledge the positive changes observed at the Embassy since he took office.
During the meeting, the Bor leaders highlighted issues affecting South Sudanese citizens in Kenya, including immigration and consular services. Kon reassured the community of his commitment to protecting the welfare and interests of all South Sudanese living in Kenya, while encouraging unity and peaceful collaboration among the diaspora.
Ambassador Kon identified the creation of a South Sudanese Community Association in Kenya as a top priority. The proposed association is intended to bring together regional associations, students, women, artists, and community chiefs under one umbrella platform. The initiative aims to strengthen representation, coordination and cohesion among South Sudanese communities across Kenya.
