(JUBA) – The Bank of South Sudan has organised a workplace health awareness session for its staff in partnership with Andalusia Health Egypt, aimed at encouraging healthy practices within the office environment.

The presentation led by a visiting medical team focused on key health issues that can arise from office based work. Topics included ergonomics, prevention and management of back pain, early detection and treatment of critical illnesses, and ways to reduce the risk of workplace related health problems.

The medical team included Dr Ashraf Wagdy, Network Relations Manager, Dr Mohamed Al Seqely, Spine Surgery Consultant and Dr Moustafa Magdy, Africa Operations Manager. The doctors shared practical guidance on maintaining physical wellbeing and explained strategies for managing and preventing common workplace health concerns.

During a question and answer session, staff had the opportunity to engage directly with the specialists, seeking advice on personal health matters and preventive care.

David Manyuon Nak, Director General of Administration and Human Resources at the Bank of South Sudan, said such events play a vital role in sensitising staff and promoting welfare in the workplace. He stressed that employee health is integral to productivity and institutional effectiveness.

The health talk was attended by several senior officials, including Barac Deng Aguer, Director General of Currency, and Abugo Charles Abate, Acting Director General for Policy, Research and Statistics.

The Bank of South Sudan has in recent months increased its focus on staff welfare, complementing its financial sector role with initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing of its workforce.

No direct financial costs were disclosed.
