(JUBA) – Digitel Launches GPS Tracking Service to Help South Sudan Businesses Protect Their Vehicles
Digitel South Sudan has introduced a new GPS tracking and monitoring device known as Digi Track, targeting both private car owners and businesses managing fleet operations. The service is now available through the company’s corporate office in Juba Town, offering real time vehicle surveillance through a simple mobile phone interface.
The product is aimed at improving asset security and transport efficiency for logistics firms, humanitarian agencies, fuel distributors and small business owners operating delivery vehicles across South Sudan. By installing the tracking unit, users can locate their vehicles at any time and monitor movement patterns to prevent theft or misuse.
Digitel says the Digi Track package comes with several incentives to make it easy for customers to adopt the system. The company is providing free installation, free maintenance and free user training. Each device is supported with free SIM cards, while customers are required to make a monthly top up of 10,000 South Sudanese Pounds, which is equivalent to about 2.17 US Dollars at the official August 2025 exchange rate of 4,600 Pounds to the Dollar.
The service carries a six month warranty period. Digitel believes this will boost confidence among buyers who may be installing electronic tracking systems for the first time.

Security analysts say that vehicle theft and loss of fuel are common challenges for transport and construction firms in South Sudan. GPS-based solutions have already become popular in Kenya and Uganda, and Digitel aims to introduce similar standards locally to improve accountability in vehicle use.
The launch of Digi Track also reflects growing interest in digital tools among South Sudanese companies as they seek to modernise their operations and reduce financial risks. If widely adopted, tracking systems could support insurance providers and law enforcement agencies in responding faster to incidents involving stolen vehicles.
Digitel has branded the service under the slogan “Bridging the Digital Divide”, suggesting that the company intends to make digital tools more accessible to customers across the country.
