Vice Presidents Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel and Taban Deng Gai, who also chairs the Infrastructure Cluster, convened a meeting on Friday to assess the progress of key projects.

The Office of the Vice President for Economic Infrastructure stated that the meeting, held on Friday, August 8, focused on reviewing the status of projects and identifying priority needs, with a particular emphasis on road construction. The government is actively seeking funding to support these efforts.

The importance of road infrastructure was underscored, highlighting its role not only in fostering economic growth but also in connecting communities, reducing transportation costs, facilitating trade, and promoting regional integration.

During the meeting, the challenges affecting river transport, such as obstacles and illegal taxation, were discussed. Both Vice Presidents agreed to address these barriers to enhance service delivery and facilitate trade nationwide.
