The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) has recently announced a series of internal transfers and promotions that will impact key positions within the organization. These changes are aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, and operational standards at airports and airstrips across the country.
Approved by the SSCAA Board of Directors and senior management, the reorganization was unveiled during the closing ceremony of the Aerodrome and Runway Safety Workshop, which took place from 4 to 7 August 2025 in Juba. The event was presided over by SSCAA Director General Hon. John Woja Elinana and Board Chairperson Hon. Michael Lopuke Lotyam.
In a press statement released on 6 August 2025, SSCAA highlighted that these adjustments are part of a broader strategy to align operations with national and international aviation standards. The authority assured the public that these changes are crucial in delivering safe, secure, and efficient civil aviation services.
Among the key appointments, Capt. Dau Majak has been promoted to General Manager of Regional Airports. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the operations of regional airports and airstrips to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
In another significant move, Eng. Kat Mosety Monyjok has been appointed as Acting General Manager of Juba International Airport. His responsibilities will include maintaining the smooth operations of the busiest airport in the country and the primary international gateway.
SSCAA emphasized that Juba International Airport and all other airports in South Sudan will continue to be under its management and oversight, in addition to the guidance of its Board of Directors.
The authority highlighted that all projects and developments at these facilities are subject to SSCAA and Board approval to uphold national priorities and global aviation standards.
