(JUBA) – Telecommunications provider Zain South Sudan has introduced a series of new services aimed at improving access to communication for individuals and businesses across the country. The latest offerings include an interest free emergency airtime loan, a discounted voice bundle and a bulk SMS service designed to enhance business outreach.
The new “Zain Dayn’ni” service allows customers to borrow airtime instantly and pay later with no added interest. This feature is designed to support users during urgent situations when they run out of airtime but still need to stay connected. To access the service, customers simply dial *411# on their phones. Zain emphasises that the process is quick, reliable and user friendly.
In a separate offer, the telecom company is promoting the “Wonusu Bundle”, which provides 180 minutes of talk time for just 3,326 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), the equivalent of approximately $0.72 USD at the official exchange rate of 1 USD = 4,600 SSP (as of July 2025). This package is accessible to all Zain subscribers by dialling *100*5*2#. The bundle aims to support affordable communication across all networks in South Sudan, whether for personal or professional use.
Service | Offer | Price | Dial Code |
---|---|---|---|
Zain Dayn’ni | Borrow airtime, pay later, no fees | Variable (based on loan) | *411# |
Wonusu Bundle | 180 minutes talk time | 3,326 SSP ($0.72 USD) | *100*5*2# |
Zain has also announced its Bulk SMS platform, which enables businesses, NGOs, and government entities to send customised text messages to large groups instantly. This tool is particularly useful for mass promotions, emergency notifications and targeted public messaging campaigns. The service is already available at Zain’s Corporate Office, and interested users can also get started by calling +211 912 399 446.
These initiatives come as part of Zain South Sudan’s broader effort to improve digital inclusion and communication reliability throughout the country, where mobile connectivity plays a central role in everyday life, particularly in remote or underserved areas.
The company says the new services are designed with affordability, flexibility, and convenience in mind, factors that are especially important in a country where economic pressures continue to affect daily communication costs for many citizens.
Zain’s recent moves reflect a wider trend in South Sudan’s telecom sector, which continues to innovate in order to meet rising consumer demand for cost effective communication solutions. With both individuals and organisations seeking more accessible ways to stay connected, the introduction of these offerings is expected to see strong uptake.
