(MUNICH, BAVARIA) – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asserted that the readiness of Kyiv to negotiate an end to the conflict represents the ultimate compromise, given that the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, has yet to face international justice. Speaking on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on 14 February 2026, Zelenskyy suggested that the Russian dictator occupies an increasingly precarious position and possesses limited time to maintain his current trajectory.

While the United States continues to propose various settlement frameworks to halt the war with Russia, Zelenskyy emphasised that the true concession lies in Ukraine’s willingness to discuss peace while the architect of the invasion remains at liberty. The Ukrainian President noted that he retains the personal freedom and political vitality to seek change after his tenure, contrasting his own position with that of the ageing Russian dictator.

Zelenskyy further remarked that the Russian dictator lacks significant time, expressing a belief that the situation for the Kremlin will continue to deteriorate. This sentiment follows recent statements from Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha, who predicted that Moscow faces worsening prospects on both the battlefield and within its domestic economy.

The Ukrainian leadership maintains that the path to an accelerated conclusion of the war requires a combination of robust security guarantees, a comprehensive reconstruction agreement, and sustained international pressure on the Russian state.
