(BERDIANSK DISTRICT, ZAPORIZHZHIA OBLAST) – Ukrainian intelligence forces and local resistance groups carried out an operation that disrupted an alleged fuel theft scheme operated by members of the Russian “Akhmat” unit near Berdiansk. The Defence Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, known as GUR, reported that the action took place on 29 November and involved two explosions that destroyed two vehicles used by the group.

According to Ukrainian officials, the operation was conducted in a temporarily occupied area of the Berdiansk district in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian partisans discovered that members of the so called “Akhmat” unit, often described as “Kadyrovites”, had arranged the illegal sale of stolen diesel fuel along a highway near Berdiansk.

The location used for the fuel sales had been mined by Ukrainian operatives. Once the occupiers gathered at the site, the first explosion took place, causing panic among the group. Some members reportedly fled the area immediately. A second explosion then struck a pickup truck that was believed to be transporting another batch of fuel.

Ukrainian intelligence stated that the two explosions destroyed two vehicles used by the group involved in the alleged scheme. Personnel losses were inflicted on the unit, although the exact number is currently being confirmed.
