(KYIV) – A video released by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate has confirmed that a targeted explosion in the occupied city of Berdiansk on 19 November resulted in significant losses for Russian occupying forces. The incident, which occurred at 22:20 Kyiv time, killed five members of the Rosgvardia unit and left four others with serious injuries. The blast also destroyed two pickup trucks and a Tigr armoured vehicle belonging to the Russian forces.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian occupiers had gathered near the entrance to Berdiansk in Zaporizhzhia Region under a propaganda billboard moments before the explosion. The agency said the group was engaged in conversation when they were struck by what it described as a powerful detonation.
The Main Intelligence Directorate stated that the operation was carried out jointly with the Ukrainian Resistance Movement, which continues to target Russian positions and disrupt occupation activities across the region. The agency noted that the strike destroyed personnel and equipment from what it referred to as the so called Rosgvardia.
Ukrainian intelligence added that emergency vehicles including ambulances and fire trucks were deployed to the scene shortly after the explosion. The blast created what the agency described as commotion at the site as occupation forces attempted to respond to the damage.
The incident follows separate Ukrainian intelligence reports of an operation targeting a fuel selling scheme allegedly run by Kadyrov associated personnel near Berdiansk. That earlier incident involved two explosions and further disrupted Russian activities in the region.
