(ZAPORIZHZHIA) – Ukrainian SBS forces destroyed a Russian Buk-M1 air defence system and multiple military targets during night operations on 10 March 2026.
The Buk-M1 is a self-propelled surface-to-air missile system designed to counter manoeuvrable aerodynamic targets, including cruise missiles, guided bombs, aircraft, helicopters, and drones, at altitudes from 30 to 18,000 metres in conditions of intense electronic countermeasures. The system was identified and destroyed in temporarily occupied territory in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Other targets highlighted in video footage were successfully engaged by SBS forces overnight in temporarily occupied Crimea, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
Operations were conducted by pilots from the 1st SBS unit using the domestically produced FP-2 “middle strike” missiles, each with a warhead weighing 60-100 kilograms. Coordination was managed by the newly established Deep Strike Control Centre of the SBS.
