(KHARKIV REGION, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian Defence Forces have fully regained control of several strategic settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, including Lyman, Vilcha, Synelnykove, and parts of Vovchansk. The eastern, western, and southern areas of Vovchansk are now firmly under Ukrainian command, according to Colonel Ivan Kolontai, Deputy Commander of the 16th Army Corps.
Kolontai reported that all attempts by Russian forces to reassert control in Vovchansk have been repelled, with those attempting to raise their flag reportedly killed in action. Daily losses for the Russian occupiers are estimated at 10 to 15 killed, with a similar number wounded.
The successful operations reflect a broader campaign by Ukrainian forces to secure key settlements in the Kharkiv region and weaken Russian positions along critical approaches. Control over Lyman, Vilcha, Synelnykove, and parts of Vovchansk provides strategic advantage in monitoring and repelling further incursions by Russian troops.
The Defence Forces continue daily operations to consolidate control and maintain security in these areas. Reports suggesting that Dobropillia near Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, has been captured by Ukrainian forces are inaccurate, according to military sources.
