Ukrainian Forces Advance 10km in South as Iranian Military Assets Face Destruction

(ZAPORIZHZHIA, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian military units have achieved a significant tactical breakthrough in the southern theatre, pushing ten kilometres through the contested gray zone. The 425th Regiment, known as Skalia, spearheaded the offensive using an aggressive combination of armoured columns, Western vehicles, and drone technologies.

This manoeuvre has resulted in the liberation of several settlements, leaving the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly entirely free of occupying forces. Major General Komarenko confirmed that the Ukrainian military now requires the clearance of only five remaining villages to fully secure the oblast.

These advances have been facilitated by the disruption of Russian communications, following the loss of access to Starlink and the self inflicted outage of the Telegram messaging platform. The lack of reliable communication channels has reportedly slowed Russian artillery response times by several minutes, allowing Ukrainian convoys to move with reduced risk of interception.

While Ukraine gains ground, its allies have systematically degraded the military capabilities of Iran, a key supporter of the Russian dictator. United States military reports indicate that the Iranian submarine fleet is now largely neutralised. The three Kilo class submarines of Soviet origin are out of commission, with the final operational vessel believed to be destroyed while docked.

Furthermore, the commander in chief of the Basij paramilitary forces, General Aadah Batfari, has been eliminated. Air strikes conducted by the United States and Israel have also completely levelled a major missile production facility in the city of Shahroud. Satellite imagery confirms that every building within the production line was targeted with precision.

The Iranian air force has suffered heavy losses, particularly at the Katami Air Base. This facility housed the last operational F 14 Tomcat aircraft in the world. Reports confirm these legendary planes were destroyed on the ground by F 35 fighters. In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone strikes against the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, though the damage was reported as minor.

Iran also directed a second missile towards Türkiye, a move that risks drawing the NATO member further into the conflict. United States casualties currently stand at seven soldiers killed in action and 150 wounded, though the majority have already returned to their posts. To mitigate the threat from Iranian drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has deployed mobile drone interceptor teams to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to protect regional personnel and infrastructure.

Economic tensions have escalated as Iran has reportedly begun mining the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage that handles 20 percent of global oil transport. This action has led to significant price hikes and increased insurance rates for commercial shipping. United States intelligence reports from as early as 2019 suggested that Iran possessed over 5000 naval mines, yet the current mining effort has caused a significant logistical headache for the United States Navy, which has not prioritised mine sweeping investments in recent decades. Iranians are reportedly using civilian fishing vessels to lay these mines, making them difficult to detect and target without risking civilian casualties.

Inside Russia, Ukrainian forces continue to strike deep into rear areas, recently destroying the Kremniy EL electronics plant in Bryansk. Five Storm Shadow missiles were used to level the facility, which produces essential microelectronics for the Russian military. Russian aviation sources have expressed frustration at the failure of local air defences to protect such vital infrastructure. Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine is positioning itself to become a premier global arms exporter. Saudi Arabia is currently negotiating a major weapons procurement deal with Kyiv. Ukrainian equipment is increasingly viewed as desirable due to its battle proven reliability and cost effective production under wartime conditions.
