(SUMY REGION, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian border guard drone units have destroyed two Russian artillery pieces and halted two assault groups in operations along the northern front, according to official statements.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that over the past day, operators from the 15th Mobile Border Detachment conducted strikes in the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. Using unmanned aerial vehicles, the unit identified and destroyed two 2A36 Hyacinth B artillery guns positioned in the rear of Russian forces at distances exceeding 20 kilometres.

In addition to the artillery strikes, Ukrainian drone operators targeted advancing enemy infantry. Two Russian assault groups were engaged and neutralised. Radio intercepts later confirmed the elimination of ten Russian personnel.

The use of unmanned systems by border guard units reflects a broader shift in the conflict, where smaller mobile formations equipped with drones are able to detect, track and destroy targets at significant range.

The State Border Guard Service said the strikes were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to contain Russian advances and degrade offensive capabilities in northern sectors bordering the Kursk region of Russia.

Video of the operation was released by the Press Service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions.
