(MICHURINSK, TAMBOV REGION) – A fire broke out at a Russian industrial plant following a drone attack overnight on 3 June. The facility, which analysts link to the production of components for cruise missile systems, is located in the Tambov region.
Unmanned aerial vehicles struck the Progress plant in the city of Michurinsk. The enterprise produces equipment for aviation and missile control systems. The attack was reported by the ASTRA news outlet, citing its own open source intelligence (OSINT) analysis, according to UNN.
The project geolocated videos of the fire published by eyewitnesses near the production facilities of the enterprise. Analysts concluded that the fire occurred specifically on the territory of the Progress plant. Russian authorities have not yet issued an official comment on the incident.
Data from the War & Sanctions project, maintained by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, indicates the enterprise manufactures MP-95 sensors. These components can be used during the testing and control of Kh-101 cruise missile systems. The plant also produces gyromotors for Kh-59M2 and Kh-59M2A missiles, devices employed in angular velocity determination systems.
The Progress plant has been targeted previously. ASTRA reports that strikes on the enterprise were recorded in December 2024, June 2025, and February 2026. Beyond its products for the aviation and missile industries, the enterprise also manufactures civilian electrical equipment and products for gas and oil pipelines.
