(DONETSK, DONETSK OBLAST) – Ukrainian unmanned systems units have carried out a precision strike on a command post belonging to a specialised unit of Russia’s Federal Security Service in occupied Donetsk, according to Ukrainian military sources.

The target was identified as a command and operational base of the Mobile Actions Directorate of the FSB, a counterintelligence unit that operates as a special forces formation and is tasked with covert and irregular warfare activities in temporarily occupied territories and across Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials say the unit has been involved in counterintelligence operations, sabotage missions, special military actions, and the development of agent networks. Its activities are also said to include identifying and detaining civilians deemed disloyal, coordinating pro Russian militant groups, and carrying out acts of sabotage and arson.

The strike was conducted at 08:01 on 22 April 2026 and involved eight high precision FP-2 munitions, each reportedly carrying a warhead of between 60 and 100 kilograms.

According to preliminary Ukrainian intelligence estimates, Russian losses amounted to 27 personnel, including 12 officers killed and 15 wounded.

The operation was developed by specialists from the Deep Strike Centre of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with personnel from the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.

The strike itself was carried out using MiddleStrike systems operated by the “Birds” unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces, under the coordination of the newly established Deep Strike Centre.

The information was released by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.
