Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Refinery, Air Defence System and Vessel in Coordinated Operations

(KYIV) – The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed on Monday a series of successful strikes against Russian military and energy infrastructure, including hits on three oil refineries, a Pantsir-S1 air defence system, and a degaussing vessel in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Officials stated that units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck a number of important enemy targets on 1 June and during the night of 2 June 2026.

The Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation was hit. The General Staff confirmed a subsequent fire on the plant’s territory and noted the scale of the damage was still being clarified. The Ilsky refinery, one of the largest oil refining enterprises in southern Russia, has a processing capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes of oil per year. The facility produces petroleum products used, among other purposes, to supply the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

A Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system was also struck near Vydne in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the report added.

Ukraine also targeted a UAV warehouse belonging to an enemy unit in Shakhtarske, Donetsk region. Occupier UAV control points were hit in the areas of Ustinka in Russia’s Belgorod region, Luhove in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Hola Prystan in the Kherson region. Ukrainian soldiers additionally struck concentrations of enemy manpower near Shirokyne, Berestok and Komar in the Donetsk region, Maliivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and Lokoti in Russia’s Kursk region.

Regarding missile strikes conducted on 31 May 2026, the General Staff confirmed the destruction of two primary oil processing units, AVT-1 and AVT-2, following a hit by Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles on the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. A subsequent fire was reported on the enterprise’s territory. As a result of hits on the same date on the territory of the Saratov refinery, the destruction of the AVT-6 primary oil processing unit was confirmed.

The General Staff also clarified information regarding the Lazarevo linear production and dispatch station in the Kirov region of the Russian Federation, where two RVS-50000 cubic metre tanks and the buildings of the main pumping stations were damaged.

Among other results, an occupier ship was hit during the night of 1 June in its basing area near Mizhvodne in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Preliminary information indicates the vessel was a degaussing ship. The results of this strike are still being assessed.

The operations form part of a sustained campaign targeting the logistics and energy infrastructure sustaining the Kremlin’s war effort. A graphic shared by Ukraine’s armed forces, described as a refinery calendar for May, documented 19 strikes on key oil infrastructure throughout the month, excluding a ceasefire day for what officials described as a parade of military hardware through Moscow.

Footage of the Ilsky refinery strike released by independent military analysts showed Russian air defence systems attempting and predictably failing to intercept the incoming drones.

The Ilsky refinery had been hit 16 times previously. The latest fire was once again concentrated around the El processing unit, identified as the key part of the refinery.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released the operational details.
