Listen to this article

(BLACK SEA, CRIMEA) – Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence reported a series of successful strikes against Russian military assets in occupied Crimea during the first two weeks of March, as operations to degrade Moscow’s air defence capabilities continued.

Specialists from the “Prymary” unit carried out multiple attacks targeting Russian systems on the peninsula, focusing on equipment designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.

During one of the operations, Ukrainian military intelligence struck a Valdai radar system, a modern Russian complex intended to detect and counter small drones.

Additional precision strikes disabled several other components of Russian military infrastructure, including an electronic warfare jamming station, a signal relay used for Geran type drones, and a GLONASS navigation system complex.

The unit also targeted Russian naval assets, hitting two Project 02510 BK 16 landing craft while they were in motion. The vessels, along with their crews, were reported destroyed.

Ukrainian officials said the operations form part of an ongoing campaign to demilitarise the occupied peninsula.
