Ukrainian Troops Report Zero Losses in Lyman Battle That Repelled Mechanised Attack in Eastern Ukraine

(LYMAN, DONETSK OBLAST) – Ukrainian forces have repelled a large scale Russian assault on the Lyman axis, destroying more than 50 pieces of equipment and inflicting significant personnel losses, according to the Joint Forces grouping.

Units of the 66th Separate Mechanised Brigade, named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave, reported that they successfully halted the attack without suffering any casualties.

The assault was launched during deteriorating weather conditions, with Russian forces deploying more than 50 motorcycles and quad bikes, alongside armoured vehicles and a sizeable infantry contingent. Ukrainian officials said the attackers had intended to break through defensive positions but were instead repelled.

In coordination with units of the 3rd Army Corps and the 20th Unmanned Systems Brigade K 2, Ukrainian forces destroyed 43 Russian troops and multiple pieces of equipment. This included six armoured vehicles, identified as BMP 3 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR 82 armoured personnel carriers, as well as 10 quad bikes and five motorcycles.

Some Russian troops reportedly retreated before reaching the line of contact, while others who advanced were neutralised during the engagement.

Ukrainian forces reported total Russian losses of more than 50 pieces of equipment and nearly 50 personnel. No Ukrainian casualties were recorded.

The operation was reported by the press service of the 66th Separate Mechanised Brigade and the Joint Forces grouping. The engagement took place on the Lyman axis in Donetsk Oblast.
