Battlefield Update: Russian Forces Lost 1,180 Troops in 24 Hours

(KYIV, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian military officials said on Tuesday that Russian forces suffered heavy losses over the past 24 hours, including more than 1,100 personnel and hundreds of drones, as fighting continued along multiple front line sectors.

According to figures released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 1,180 Russian troops were killed or wounded during the reporting period. The military said 601 operational tactical drones were also destroyed.

The latest data indicate that total Russian personnel losses since the start of the full scale invasion on 24 February 2022 are approaching 1.26 million.

Ukrainian forces also reported the destruction of 26 artillery systems, one of the highest daily totals recorded in recent days, as well as the loss of one air defence system.

Armoured units sustained further damage, with four tanks and five armoured combat vehicles disabled. Military analysts said this may reflect more cautious use of heavy equipment by Russian forces, amid sustained pressure from Ukrainian anti tank units.

Drone operations featured prominently in the latest report. The General Staff said the destruction of more than 600 unmanned aerial vehicles had disrupted Russian surveillance and targeting in several areas.

Logistical capabilities were also affected. Ukrainian forces reported the destruction of 169 vehicles, including fuel tankers, reducing the supply of fuel and ammunition to forward positions.

No losses of aircraft, ships, or submarines were recorded during the reporting period.

The military said the situation remained fluid and that figures could change as fighting continued around the clock.
