(AFIPSKY, KRASNODAR KRAI – RUSSIA) – A Russian air defence missile reportedly struck a residential high rise building in the village of Afipsky within the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia. This incident was documented by UNN with citations from local social media pages.

Local authorities have yet to issue an official comment regarding the explosions reported within the settlement. In the absence of formal statements, many local residents have expressed the belief that the building was targeted by Ukraine. One social media post reflecting local sentiment used a derogatory term to suggest that Ukrainian forces had penetrated the area.

Certain Russian citizens have speculated that the strike involved a Ukrainian Flamingo missile, though a majority of local observers suggest that the incident was the result of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.

Afipsky is an urban settlement situated in the Seversky district of Krasnodar Krai, approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the regional capital, Krasnodar. The village is served by the Afipskaya railway station, a point on the line connecting Krasnodar and Novorossiysk.

The settlement is primarily known for the Afipsky Oil Refinery, which represents the largest industrial component in the district. In December, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted strikes against key fuel, energy, and military infrastructure facilities across the Russian Federation. These operations, intended to reduce the offensive potential of the forces controlled by the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, specifically targeted the Afipsky Oil Refinery.
