(LUHANSK OBLAST, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian forces have destroyed up to fourteen Russian armoured vehicles in eastern Ukraine during a night time drone operation in the Luhansk region, east of the town of Svatove, according to footage and open source analysis shared online.

The video, circulated on social media and reviewed by military observers, shows a cluster of Russian armoured vehicles being struck by Ukrainian bomber drones. The vehicles appear to include infantry fighting vehicles, tanks and lighter support vehicles, all positioned within a wooded area.

What distinguishes this operation from previous engagements is the timing of the strike. Rather than intercepting a Russian column while advancing or actively engaging Ukrainian positions, Ukrainian forces targeted the vehicles before they began their movement towards the front lines.

Analysts suggest the vehicles were likely being assembled in preparation for a future assault. Reports indicate they were positioned approximately thirty kilometres behind the active front, near a key east west supply road used to support Russian operations in the area.

The footage shows that Ukrainian drones used precision targeting, with evidence suggesting artificial intelligence assisted guidance. This allowed Ukrainian operators to identify, track and strike individual vehicles that were concealed among trees and earthworks.

Military analysts note that Russian mechanised units are typically staged closer to the front line in buildings, bunkers or warehouses in order to reduce detection. The location and spacing of these vehicles suggests they were operational and awaiting redeployment rather than undergoing repairs.

Open source geolocation conducted by independent researchers places the strike near a forested area adjacent to a major supply route that branches towards several contested sectors. One possible destination for the vehicles was the area around Kian, where Russian forces previously claimed advances that were later disputed.

Ukrainian forces appear to have disrupted any planned movement before it could begin. Regardless of the intended destination, the destruction of fourteen armoured vehicles represents one of the largest confirmed losses for Russian forces in a single drone strike in recent months.
