(GROZNY, CHECHNYA) – Adam Kadyrov, the 18 year old son of the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, has been admitted to a newly established republican hospital in Grozny following a serious vehicle collision. Reports indicate that he is currently in a critical condition and remains unconscious within an intensive care unit. Security forces have reportedly blocked all access roads to the medical facility as the situation develops.

Sources informed Kavkaz Realii that the younger Kadyrov was transported to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness. Local witnesses in Grozny noted that the heightened security presence and the closure of the hospital to the public are direct results of his admission. While the precise nature of his injuries has not been officially confirmed, representatives of the Chechen diaspora have corroborated reports of his hospitalisation in a life threatening state.

The accident reportedly involved a motorcade that was travelling at high speed. According to the NIYSO opposition movement, the convoy of vehicles encountered an unexpected obstacle on the road, leading to a chain reaction collision. The movement suggested that the high speed of the vehicles, which were following closely behind one another, contributed to the severity of the crash. While there are reports of multiple casualties among the personnel in the motorcade, the primary focus of the emergency response appears to be centred on the condition of Adam Kadyrov.

The timing of this incident is significant, as it follows recent public appearances where his father, Ramzan Kadyrov, was seen using a walking cane. This has fueled ongoing speculation regarding the health of the Chechen leader himself, who is a close ally of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Any instability within the Kadyrov family is viewed with scepticism by international observers, particularly given the aggressive stance the Chechen leadership has taken in support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Adam Kadyrov has recently been elevated to several high profile positions within the Chechen administration, including overseeing the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. His wedding in June 2025 was attended by senior figures from the Russian government, including two Deputy Prime Ministers. The potential impact of his current condition on the political landscape of Chechnya remains uncertain, as the region continues to operate under a highly centralised and repressive structure directed by the Russian dictator in Moscow.
