(CRIMEA, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian drones struck several Russian military targets in occupied Crimea, damaging a BK16 fast attack boat and hitting a storage site linked to Orion reconnaissance and strike drones, according to video footage and operational commentary released online.
The footage shows a series of strikes carried out by Ukrainian unmanned systems against Russian positions across the peninsula. The attacks reportedly involved first person view drones launched from marine drones, as well as FP2 strike drones, which carry a larger explosive payload but operate at shorter range.
The first strikes shown in the compilation appear to hit Russian decoys designed to resemble air defence systems. The decoys represent a more advanced attempt at deception compared with the aircraft silhouettes that Russian forces have previously painted on the ground.
The drone operators initially mistook the decoys for genuine targets. After the impact, unusual shrapnel patterns visible in the debris indicated that the objects were likely mock ups rather than operational equipment.
Another target struck by the FPV drones was a pickup truck fitted with a machine gun and deployed in an anti drone role. The vehicle attempted to intercept an incoming drone but was itself hit during the engagement.
Later in the footage, Ukrainian FP2 drones are seen striking several confirmed Russian assets. The FP2 system can be identified by the green interface visible in the strike footage, which distinguishes it from the earlier FP1 variant.
One of the most notable hits involved a BK16 fast attack boat. The craft was struck and damaged during the attack. These vessels are lightly built and are used by Russian forces around Crimea for coastal patrol duties and fast troop transport.
The BK16 is similar in concept to the Russian Raptor patrol boat, which itself is based on the Swedish CB90 fast assault craft design. Russian forces have deployed these vessels widely around Crimea, where they can also operate as fast landing craft.
The video also shows a strike on infrastructure at a dockyard beneath a large crane. The exact equipment hit was not immediately identified, but the structure burned after the impact. It may have included generators or support equipment used for the crane operations.
Another strike targeted Kirovske air base in Crimea. FP2 drones reportedly hit an area believed to be used for the storage of Orion reconnaissance and strike drones along with associated control stations.
Footage from the attack shows fires burning at the air base following the impact. Ukrainian forces have targeted the facility before, often focusing on helicopters based there.
The Orion drone is a Russian medium altitude reconnaissance and strike unmanned aircraft. It performs roles similar to those of the Turkish Bayraktar systems and can carry anti tank missiles or light cruise missiles.
Russia revealed a new light cruise missile for the Orion platform in 2025 known as the S8000. The drones stored at the base were reportedly capable of launching these weapons, although the number of systems damaged or destroyed during the strike was not immediately known.
The Kirovske facility is one of the main Russian helicopter bases in occupied Crimea and has been targeted multiple times by Ukrainian drones during the war.
Geolocation analysis from the video indicates that the BK16 patrol boat strike occurred near the settlement of Novo Ozerne on Lake Donuzlav. A Russian Coast Guard base is located in the area.
The boat struck in the footage appears to have been positioned some distance south of the base, possibly in an attempt to conceal it from Ukrainian surveillance.
The attacks represent another example of Ukraine using relatively small unmanned systems to target Russian naval and air assets in occupied Crimea.
