French AASM Hammers Flatten Russian Drone Nest in Kherson

(KHERSON OBLAST, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian Air Force assets have conducted a precision strike against a Russian UAV operations centre in the Kherson region, destroying a building used to coordinate attacks on civilian targets.

Video footage published on 11 May 2026 shows a MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter jet deploying a pair of French supplied AASM Hammer 500 pound guided bombs against the structure. The target was located in proximity to the city of Kherson, an area the narrator describes as not the front lines but a primary zone where Russia conducts what are termed “human safaris,” deliberately targeting civilians with drones.

The strike, captured from multiple angles, shows the building being completely flattened upon impact. Reconnaissance footage released prior to the main explosion showed an individual moving inside the structure moments before the bombs struck, confirming the site was actively being used as a drone coordination hub. The narrator commented on the weapon’s continued reliability, stating, “I don’t think I’ve seen AASM Hammer miss yet. It really does seem like a great weapon, accurate and very powerful.”

The footage is notable as it demonstrates a persistent Ukrainian fixed wing combat capability. The narrator highlighted that Ukraine is still maintaining an active air force “over four years into the conflict” with Russia failing to establish air superiority over the battlespace. The precise coordinates of the strike location were provided alongside geolocated imagery showing an office style structure that was not reinforced, leading to its immediate collapse upon detonation.

The operation is being viewed as a preventive measure for civilian safety. The narrator noted the targeted UAV operators were “most certainly some of those responsible for carrying out war crimes in Kherson.” The attack directly addresses Russia’s documented use of first person view drones and reconnaissance UAVs to stalk and injure private citizens and municipal workers in the southern city.
