(DONETSK, DONETSK OBLAST) – Ukrainian forces have successfully conducted a high precision drone operation against a Federal Security Service (FSB) command post located in the occupied city of Donetsk. The strike targeted a former hotel building that had been repurposed by the Russian occupation as a hub for counter intelligence and surveillance activities.
According to Ukrainian military sources, the operation utilised eight FP2 attack drones. These specific unmanned aerial vehicles carry a significant payload, with warheads weighing up to 100 kilograms. Intelligence gathered prior to the mission allowed Ukrainian operators to identify the exact rooms occupied by Russian personnel within the large structure. Video footage released from the perspective of the drones, as well as ground level recordings, shows multiple impacts concentrated on the same section of the building.
The engagement resulted in the elimination of 12 FSB officers and left a further 15 injured. The accuracy of the strikes highlights a significant failure in Russian air defence systems within the occupied territory, as all eight drones successfully reached the intended target. While the entire hotel complex appears to be under Russian control, the strike specifically focused on the areas where the successor agency to the Soviet KGB was actively operating.
The successful pinpointing of these high value individuals demonstrates the depth of Ukrainian intelligence capabilities in the region. Further reports are expected to clarify if high ranking officials were among the casualties.
