Border Guards Repel Russian Infiltration Attempts in Kharkiv Region

(KHARKIV REGION, UKRAINE) – Units of the GART Border Guard Brigade have repelled renewed Russian assault operations and infiltration attempts along the northern section of the Kharkiv region, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Last week, Russian forces resumed active assault actions within the brigade’s defensive sector, attempting to break through the state border at multiple points. The most intense efforts were recorded near the settlements of Budarky and Zemlianky.

Russian troops advanced in small infantry groups of several personnel, at times supported by light vehicles including motorcycles. These movements were backed by drone reconnaissance, artillery fire and aviation support.

Ukrainian border guards responded with sustained drone operations. Reconnaissance and strike UAV groups identified, engaged and neutralised Russian personnel on approach to the state border. One Russian serviceman was captured during the period.

According to the report, more than fifty Russian troops were put out of action. Of these, 34 were killed and a further 18 wounded during the failed attempts.

The GART Border Guard Brigade operates as part of Ukraine’s Defence Forces to suppress all efforts by Russian forces to penetrate into northern Kharkiv region.

The footage and operational update were released by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The engagements took place in the areas of Budarky and Zemlianky in Kharkiv region.
