Listen to this article

(VOVCHANSK, KHARKIV REGION) – Ukrainian border guards said they repelled repeated Russian assault attempts near the city of Vovchansk on the South Slobozhanskyi axis.

The State Border Guard Service said Russian troops advanced in small groups in an effort to storm Ukrainian positions. The attacks were disrupted by coordinated action from the Forpost Border Guard Brigade.

According to the statement, Russian units were detected on approach and targeted with FPV drones and strike UAVs, preventing further movement towards Ukrainian positions.

Military officials said Russian troops increasingly use a tactic of remaining motionless after detecting drones, lying on the ground in an attempt to avoid detection. However, drone operators have adapted and are able to identify such behaviour.

All assault attempts were stopped and Russian forces sustained losses, the Border Guard Service said. Ukrainian units continue to hold their positions and counter further attacks.

The footage and details were released by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
