(NORTH SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA DIRECTION) – Ukrainian border guard units have destroyed Russian surveillance and electronic warfare equipment during ongoing operations in the north eastern sector, according to footage released on 20 April by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Border guards from the “Chernivtsi” border service department Type C continue to carry out combat tasks in the area, with drone operators targeting equipment used by Russian forces to sustain aerial surveillance and drone operations.
During the operation, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle teams destroyed several enemy antennas used to maintain drone activity in the air. A surveillance camera was also identified and struck.
In addition, the unit located and destroyed a Russian made electronic warfare system identified as “Peroed”. The system is designed to disrupt communications and counter unmanned aerial systems. Ukrainian sources estimated its value at approximately 30,000 US dollars.
The destruction of such equipment is expected to reduce Russian ability to monitor the battlefield and interfere with Ukrainian drone operations in the sector.
The State Border Guard Service encouraged recruitment efforts alongside the operational update, calling for volunteers to join its ranks.
The footage and details of the operation were released by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, with the engagement reported on the North Slobozhanshchyna axis.
