Ukrainian “Phoenix” drone unit strikes Russian armour and logistics in Kharkiv

Listen to this article

(KHARKIV REGION) – Ukrainian Border Guard drone pilots from the Phoenix unit have carried out precision strikes against Russian forces, targeting armour, logistics, and infantry positions, according to footage released on 1 May.

The pilots are described as highly skilled in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, continuously refining their capabilities through extended range flights and repeated combat operations.

During recent missions, the unit deployed FPV drones to strike Russian equipment and personnel with high accuracy. Officials said the operations focused on degrading frontline capabilities and disrupting supply and movement.

According to the statement, areas reached by the unit’s drones leave Russian forces exposed, with little protection from aerial attack once identified.

The strikes form part of ongoing efforts by Ukraine’s Defence Forces to apply sustained pressure on Russian positions across the sector.

The footage was released by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The engagement took place in the Kharkiv region.
